Sunday 8th June 2025 – this years Ratae run to Lamport Hall & Gardens. Free breakfast roll and tea or coffee, tulip route guide, rally plaque, proceeds go to the Leicester Musical Memory Box.

RATAE Runs have been organised by South Leicestershire MG Club since 2012, each time with proceeds going to that years chosen charity. This year’s RATAE Run is taking place on Sunday 8th June, starting with a breakfast roll and a hot drink at The White Horse in Broughton Astley. There will be a coffee stop part way to the destination of Lamport Hall and Gardens, where tickets are available to have a guided tour of the Hall or you can order when entering on the form below.

This event is open to all classics old and modern, regardless of manufacturer, and this year we are supporting the charity Leicester Musical Memory Box, who help people with dementia.

According to Lamport Hall website: ‘Developed from a Tudor Manor house, architecturally the Lamport Hall has been worked on by Smith of Warwick and William Burn, but is best known for its John Webb classical frontage. The gardens cover approximately 10 acres and include extensive herbaceous borders and shrubbery walks containing some Rare and interesting plants.

Leicester Musical Memory Box:

Leicester Musical Memory Box is a music powered, not4profit organisation singing for people affected by dementia or other memory problems, around Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We start off as usual from the White Horse Pub, 32 Station Rd, Broughton Astley, LE9 6PT, where you will receive your choice of breakfast cob and hot drink.

8.00-10.00am: Start arriving – Marshals will show you where to park.
Start Venue & Registration: White Horse Pub, 32 Station Road, Broughton Astley, Leics, LE9 6PT

Refreshments: Vouchers provided at registration for The White Horse breakfast and Whilton Locks Garden Centre mid route coffee.

Route Guide and Plaque: Provided at registration.

Fund Raising: Raffle at White Horse with collection of prizes at Statfold.

2.30pm – Singing from Kyle Newman from our chosen charity – Leicestershire Musical Memory Box

Kyle Newman from our chosen charity – Leicestershire Musical Memory Box will entertain us with her singing for a 45min set. We would appreciate if you could come along and support her.
